Cosmic Kitchen
By Janno Bergmann
On October 4, 1957, Sputnik-1, was launched into space. From that day onwards, a large-scale race in space began. Today, more than 60 years later, we have reached the space age of 4.0, where the circle of contributors is constantly expanding, space travel and discovery trips are no longer the exclusive ability of individual countries. The race is supported by academic education institutions, private companies, industrialists. Recent trials with vertically landing and recyclable launchers provide hope that space tourism is already within reach. An abstract and inaccessible space in the outer space becomes something that is reachable and personally experienced.
In theory, now, soon we will have the opportunity to use this unlimited expanse of personal and experienced space, in practice this is not the case. It is quite likely that most of us will not be able to wait for this Space travel price drop. But we need to capture this race already here and now.
Fortunately, alternative solutions exist, the artist opens the portal directly from his kitchen and helps the viewer to travel to the outer space! The poor man’s space journey brings you to the unseen spaciousness. Travel safely, do not worry, it’s not a one-way ticket.
Three, two, one, start!
