Flowers of Evil

By Janno Bergmann

The exhibition is an experimental continuation of the photo series “Les Fleurs du Mal”, inspired by Charles Baudelaire’s iconic book of poems.

The expanded image series was created using an artificial intelligence model trained by the exhibition’s author on works from the original photo series and then guided on a new visual journey through text prompts. This juxtaposition of different levels of existence invites viewers to follow the post-mortem journey of an organic entity, destined for transience, as it transforms from dust into new life. In this exhibition, the metamorphosis of a withered bouquet transcends its transition from image to image, teleporting into a three-dimensional object.

Through poetic imagery and modern technology, the author seeks to illuminate the metaphysics and beauty of transience, suggesting that impermanence does not always signify the ultimate end of existence.
